You should be informed that Bill Gates still does not own an iPhone.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Bill Gates is not yet using an iPhone.

Bill Gates has frequently stated that he prefers Android over the iPhone, and that doesn’t seem to have changed. The Microsoft co-founder revealed in a recent Reddit “Ask Me Anything” that, predictably, he hasn’t switched to an iPhone and isn’t using an iPad, Mac, or Microsoft Surface Duo.

Gates revealed that he’s actually using the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, which he got directly from Samsung chairman J. Lee. Gates claimed he has a Galaxy Z Fold3 last year and apparently only traveled to South Korea to meet JY Lee and buy a new phone. Gates went on to say that the Galaxy Z Fold4’s foldable screen size eliminates the need for a tablet. Instead, he uses only his unnamed Windows-powered “portable PC” and his Android-powered smartphone.

When I met him in South Korea, Samsung chairman JY Lee gave me his Samsung Fold 4 instead of the Fold 3. Of course, I use many Microsoft applications, including Outlook. Due to the large screen size, I only use my phone and a Windows-based portable PC. Gates has stopped saying why he still prefers Android over iPhone. However, in a 2021 interview, Gates argued that the key for Android makers was to have “more flexibility” in software integration. He later explained what it means:

This logic seems a bit strange, given how easily Microsoft software can be downloaded from the iPhone App Store. Gates also says he has an iPhone nearby for testing purposes, but it’s not the primary device he uses. Taken from 9to5Mac
It doesn’t matter which mobile operating system Bill Gates prefers. Apple and Google don’t need Bill Gates’ support to succeed. But people always seem interested in the methods Gates employs, and often enjoy making fun of his justifications.

Bill Gates could change his mind if Apple develops a foldable iPhone for him.
