Manchester United and Liverpool will lose up to £50 million in prize money after officially missing the Club World Cup, which will be held under a new system with an increased number of teams.

FIFA will host the 32-team Club World Cup in the United States in 2025, with 12 teams from Europe admitted.

Current Champions League champions Manchester City and 2021 Champions League champions Chelsea have qualified for the Club World Cup, the biggest competition in club history, which will offer up to £1 billion in prize money.

However, Liverpool and United did not qualify for the Champions League. With their exit from the Champions League, they will miss the new Club World Cup.

Arsenal, who have already qualified for the 16th round of the Champions League, can still qualify if they become the champions of the Champions League.

The FIFA Club World Cup will be held from June 15 to July 13, 2025.

Manchester City, Real Madrid with Chelsea Bayern Munich Paris Saint-Germain Inter Milan Porto and Benfica have already been admitted.

PSV with Arsenal Sociedad Copenhagen will be able to enter only if they become champions of the Champions League this season.
