At least two people who planned to help Bago flood have been arrested

People close to the family told RFA that some young people, including Ko Saw Naing Oo and Ko Zin Ko Win, were arrested in Yangon on October 9 by military council troops who were planning to provide flood relief for Bagu City, where nearly 20,000 people were affected by the flood.

He said he was arrested when he was preparing to go to Bago city from Hlaing Tharyar Township for flood relief.

A friend of Ko Saw Naing Oo, who did not want to be named for security reasons, told RFA that Ko Saw Naing Oo is an activist for peace and minority rights.

“They were arrested while they were preparing equipment for the Bago flood relief. Some young people, including Ko Saw Naing Oo and Ko Zin Ko Win, were also arrested. It is not yet known who the other arrestees are.”
